Will visitors understand your ideas? And do they think they need them? You want to know that before you invest much time and money in design, technology and content. A concept test gives you the confidence you’re on the right path. And then you can start working with improved ideas and updated insights.

With your visitors in mind you are able to check whether your ideas are good or not. They look at them with fresh eyes. What you might think is logical, is a mystery to them. Issues you still question, they take for granted.

How does a concept test work?

Users that fit you.

We'll look at the target group you have in mind and see to it that the right test users are invited. We often organize 8 to 12 in-depth interviews.

Designs, wire-frames or beer mats.

We don't need a fully developed website. Sketches of the concept are enough to learn what people understand, notice or need, and what they do not. Have you developed the site quite a lot already and do you want to know whether visitors can cope with it? Then you should consider a usability test or eyetracking research.

Realistic tasks.

We ask users about their background, needs and use context. This way we can formulate tasks that fit them. Realistic tasks result in honest and reliable reactions.

An experienced researcher supervises the test and asks the right questions at the right time. He'll zero in on what a test user says and does. He's always 100% neutral, of course.

See to it that you're there.

You can follow the research live with colleagues in our observation room. A unique chance to get acquainted with the target group, or get to know them better. You see everything the users do. Hear everything they say. Very confrontational, but it really is educational. Thanks to eye tracking, you'll also see where people are looking. And where they aren't.

Clear reporting, explicit recommendations

We write down on paper everything we've seen and heard. And we give concrete recommendations. You can use these to solve problem areas in the concept and to emphasis its strong points. The concept report is often ready within a few days. If you want to get going sooner, then we'll organize a workshop immediately after the test.
